MY CLIENT PHILOSOPHY: It’s not rocket science. I simply treat clients in the same manner as I would expect to be treated. To that end, I focus on meeting client expectations through timely communication, a schedule of deliverables and staying attentive to client matters. Communication is a key element to providing great client service.

MY SPECIALITY: I chose to specialize in manufacturing because I come from a blue-collar family. It’s great to work with manufacturers to help them grow and prosper in Northeast Ohio.

PROVEN TRACK RECORD: Above everything else, I strive to establish strong relationships with my clients. In fact, I have maintained many clients year after year, some dating back to 2006 when I joined AGP. I am successful at retaining clients because I prioritize tasks and strive to always be accessible.

NOTABLE CLIENT SUCESSES: The most gratifying part of my job is helping clients solve a problem or find a money-saving opportunity. Case in point, I found a previously overlooked opportunity for a client to deduct a sizeable loss. This deductible loss resulted in a tax savings over a three year period totaling more than $100,000. For another client, I identified the ability for a business to modify its tax structure with the IRS, which will result in annual tax savings of $15,000 per year. After reviewing several years of tax returns for a new client, I was able to identify more than $300,000 of annual tax savings due to a multitude of overlooked opportunities.

WHEN I’M NOT WORKING: You’ll find me spending time with family, golfing, watching sports, doing yard work and exercising.

ON MY BUCKET LIST: I’ve already achieved some major life goals, such as passing the CPA Exam, getting married, buying a home and becoming a parent. In my lifetime, I would like to see the Browns win a Super Bowl. I’d like to travel to Europe, Hawaii and many of the national parks throughout the United States with my family.


What are some issues within your specialty that are commonly overlooked or not addressed by clients? Manufacturing and small business tax incentives are often overlooked. Clients may simply not be aware that they are available. I work with my clients to ensure that they benefit from every tax incentive available.

What are some of the most pressing issues facing your clients today and how do you add value in helping them tackle them? Top issues are succession planning and planning through the increasing complexity of tax law changes and uncertainties. Many manufacturing companies are rebuilding in the post recession era. The recession has caused many owners of manufacturing companies to postpone retirement. However, as these owners age, the need for planning for the future becomes more imminent. I help business owners identify ways to build value in their companies and strategies to minimize their future tax liability.
