It’s time to file the Annual Report of Unclaimed Funds with the state of Ohio.  The state doesn’t automatically mail companies a reporting form; businesses are encouraged to report online through the Ohio Business Gateway or you can request that an electronic form be emailed to you.

Even if you don’t have unclaimed funds, you must file an annual Negative (none) Report.  For all companies except life insurance companies, the report and fund remittance is due by November 1, 2013; life insurance companies have until May 1, 2014 to file the report and remittance.

You can upload any National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) compliant datafile, ACH transfer unclaimed funds or file the negative report at the Ohio Business Gateway.  You can also read the Annual Report of Unclaimed Funds instructions and information booklet at www.com.ohio.gov/unfd.  Click on “How Do I…Report Unclaimed Funds?”  If you would like the electronic report emailed to you, send a blank email to:  unfdformsrequest@com.state.oh.us or call 614-728-9605 to have a copy mailed to you.
